Cavernites are a 4-piece band
in the classic Sixties style, from Liverpool, who perform a Sixties
tribute show that recreates the vibrant sounds and atmosphere of the Swinging
Sixties. The band take their name from the fan club members of The Cavern
Club in Liverpool, the most famous club in the world, that saw the birth
of The Beatles and showcased all the top bands during the Sixties. Britain
in 1962, and especially Liverpool, was a place where the Rock n’ Roll
of the fifties had been fused with American R’n’B by the local beat groups,
to create a raw, high-energy brand of music which was honed in sweaty
pubs and clubs, such as The Cavern Club in Liverpool and The Kaiserkeller,
Indra and Star clubs in Hamburg. The Cavernites re-create those days and the birth of what became known as Mersey Beat or The Liverpool or Mersey Sound, a musical style that took the UK by storm, influencing countless groups across the country. The Cavernites recreate this era performing classic hits from groups like The Beatles, The Searchers, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Mersey’s, The Hollies, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who and many other hit groups from the Sixties. |

Shakers Have a twice weekly residency at the legendary Cavern Club: Swingin’ Saturday's ‘lunchtime session’ and Shakin’ Sunday evenings, where the boys are established favourites. They made their debut 'Beatleweek' appearance in 2006 to a great reception and have been given the honour of opening the festival every year since. This fab beat combo perform the hits, misses, B-sides and lost classics from the golden age of Merseybeat with a passion and energy not seen since the heady days of the ‘60s beat boom. As Merseybeat and Hamburg legend Kingsize Taylor said after seeing the boys in action, “I haven’t heard a sound like that since the Star-Club in 1962!” Formed in 2005 by drummer Tony, these four lads from Liverpool authentically recreate the look and the sound of those Liverpool days and Hamburg nights, from the Cavern to the Star-Club where the original Mersey sound was born. The group’s ethos is based around the early 60s, as they believe that this is when beat music was at its most exciting. |

The
Fads |
The band came together purely by chance when they were selected as the featured cast for the Screen Gems television pilot '"Leave'm Smile'n". The series was to feature the comedic adventures of a rock'n'roll band as they toured the country in a bright blue bus, getting involved in mishaps but always just making it to the show. The pilot was never aired nor the series sold, but the bond between these four remained and the decision was made to turn their television dreams into reality with a live musical act! |

The Fore are not a tribute band by any means, yet they have captured the essence of the 60’s music scene and made it their own'. Broccoli Music |
