Surfing
documentary with music. One of quite a few docu-drama films
created by the 'trinity' of surf movie-makers Bruce Brown,
Phil Wilson and Gregg Noll during the Sixties. This one
is not just A
surfing film but probably THE cult surfing film of all time. The semi-documentary
with crazy, humorous narration by Bruce Brown contains fabulous
surfing footage, tracing the travels of a pair of surfers
as they follow the 'endless summer' of surf action across
Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii and California
to backing music by The Sandals and others

Woody
Allen took a 1964 Japanese film, Kagi No Kag (International
Secret Police: Key of Keys)
and dubbed it with a cast of voices, turning it into a 'spy
comedy' film focusing on a secret egg salad
recipe. The soundtrack is composed and performed by the
Lovin' Spoonful, one of the few times an
Allen film has ever acknowledged modern popular music made
past 1960. The band also appears
in the film, in between some of the scenes, lending the
film a 60s 'psychedelic' quality that adds
to the camp humour of the story. Allen himself also appears,
at the beginning and ending of the film
in one of his first screen appearances
The soundtrack
LP includes: Introduction to flick | Pow (theme from What's
Up Tiger Lily)
Gray prison blues | Pow revisited | Unconscious minuet |
Fishin' blues | Bespoken
A cool million | Speakin' of spoken | Lookin' to spy | Phil's
love theme | End title
