The Cavernites are a 4-piece band in the classic Sixties style, from Liverpool, who perform a Sixties tribute show that recreates the vibrant sounds and atmosphere of the Swinging Sixties. The band take their name from the fan club members of The Cavern Club in Liverpool, the most famous club in the world, that saw the birth of The Beatles and showcased all the top bands during the Sixties. Britain in 1962, and especially Liverpool, was a place where the Rock n’ Roll of the fifties had been fused with American R’n’B by the local beat groups, to create a raw, high-energy brand of music which was honed in sweaty pubs and clubs, such as The Cavern Club in Liverpool and The Kaiserkeller, Indra and Star clubs in Hamburg.

The Cavernites re-create those days and the birth of what became known as Mersey Beat or The Liverpool or Mersey Sound, a musical style that took the UK by storm, influencing countless groups across the country. The Cavernites recreate this era performing classic hits from groups like The Beatles, The Searchers, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Mersey’s, The Hollies, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who and many other hit groups from the Sixties.
The Cavernites
The Cavernites bring The Sixties back to life, taking the audience on a Magical Musical History Tour, through one of the greatest musical decades of all time. It's a fast and vibrant show, designed to get everyone dancing along. They are an accurate live recreation of a Sixties pop group during the Beatlemania years as seen on shows like 'Ready Steady Go’ and ’Top of the Pops' authentically recreating not only the look but the live sound of the bands they perform, bringing back the vibrancy and passion of the original bands and transporting the audience right back to the Sixties. The Cavernites use original instruments from the period, names like Rickenbacker, Epiphone, Gibson, and the famous Hofner Violin Beatle Bass, together with a Pearl Ludwig drum kit, they also use original amplifiers, names such as Marshal and Vox. The Sixties look is completed by the use of original stage clothes, and the famous Cuban heeled black Beatle boots.
The Cavernites are: Glenn Mitchell, Rhythm Guitar, vocals. Glen Griffiths, Lead Guitar, vocals. Derek Griffiths, Bass Guitar, vocals. Dino Tamburrini, Drums, vocals.

Each member of the band has a wealth of experience playing in various bands individually, and working with some of the legends of the time. These are reproduced using live action footage of many familiar sights and sounds associated with this period. From specially selected events, famous people, adverts and, of course, the original bands of the time. The two hour show covers all the recollections of that era and, with over twenty five bands being reproduced, the show is undoubtedly the most comprehensive 60’s show around today.

Formed in 2005 by drummer Tony, these four lads from Liverpool authentically recreate the look and the sound of those Liverpool days and Hamburg nights, from the Cavern to the Star-Club where the original Mersey sound was born. Sounds Force 5
Sound Force 5 In the 1960s, during the golden era of pop, one band ruled supreme in East Anglia. They were officially crowned top 60s band in one of the first ever 'Battle of The Bands', being judged outright winners by Van Morrison.

They appeared with all of the chart topping bands of the time such as The Yardbirds, Amen Corner, Merseybeats, Small Faces and Status Quo. Pirate Radio station “Radio London” chose the band to front their Radio Roadshow, long before Radio One or Two had been thought of.

The pinnacle of their career came when they were booked to appear alongside Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Pink Floyd in what was probably the UK’s first real music festival. And now SOUNDS FORCE 5 are back, playing that unique brand of 60’s music that made them so popular the first time around. Lose yourself in this golden era, when you hear the group play unforgettable numbers made famous by such bands as The Rolling Stones, The Searchers, The Moody Blues and The Spencer Davies Group.
